I wish I was Batman

Acording to the movie The Dark Knight all "bad guys" are minority groups or insane white people. When the movie starts the antagonist is seen as a sterotype mafia groups with the required Boston accent guy, a hulking black man with anger issues and the sharp dresses Italian man then the Joker is introduce as the only white "bad guy" but its not his fault because he is crazy. What this says is that for a white guy to be a bad guy he has to be crazy as guano this is elaborated on when Harvy Dent becomes insane and is now the criminal Two Face. My favorite example of the white bad guys all being crazy comes from the comics, some examples are the Scarecrow who is obsesed with fear and the Mad Hatter a man who fashions himself after the Louis Carrol character. In short to be a "bad guy" you are either a minority or your crazy. 

Cult Culture

Culture is  important no matter which culture it is. Canadian culture, Inuit culture, Jewish culture, or Muslim culture, no matter who's culture it is it must be remembered and respected. As long as people remember and respect others cultures i feel that people should be able to be a part of any culture or none if they so please. Personally as an Inuit, Canadian, Jew i take pride in my cultures. i like country foods, Inuit art and story's, i also like maple syrup, toques, and bagels and lox. i don't think that cultures need protection from media influence i think that people need to stop doing stupid things in the name of their culture. A perfect example of this is the Shafia murder trial. Muslims are persecuted based on the actions of extremists and radicals, cultures don't need to be protected from media they need to be protected from idiots. While being proud of a culture is one thing it's the actions of the few that shape the options of many.  

             

First media Lit Continued

Continuing from a couple days ago mass media to me is a big deal. Everyday i do something with some sort of media. From the Onion to Cracked or maybe a few hours on Skyrim if i had no way to get these kinds of things i would go crazy. if i was force to give up my forms of media not only would i be bored to tears but i would know nothing of the outside world and would slowly become a hermit. A relic of an age past where dinosaurs ruled the world and phones had cords. Media gives me the tools to stay aware and i like that.

Mass media is everywhere Marshal McLuhan once said "The medium is the message" to me mass media is pretty huge. For a small town kid with nothing better to do than play video games, watch movies or use the internet I spend a lot of time utilizing media. more later
